Our Staff

Scott Goodman is president and founder (1976) of Marcatus, Inc., Sewing Machine Warehouse & Kneedle.com.  He is a technology freak and has been involved in the sewing and vacuum cleaner industry since 1968. Scott is an instrument-rated pilot and flies a Cirrus SR20.   On winter Sundays, Scott (an EMT) serves with National Ski Patrol at Mountain High rescuing injured skiers and snowboarders.  He is actively involved as a first responder with Los Angeles Fire Department CERT (Level 3) and American Red Cross DHSR.  Watch upcoming "Designs in Machine Embroidery" magazine editions for his "Great Scott!" column.   Very happily married to the lovely Victoria, their home is in the Hollywood Hills where they are frequently visited by local, deer, racoon, skunk, coyote & family members.

Evan Goodman is our Brick & Mortar Store Manager.  A second-generation sewing and vacuum expert, Evan is eager to help you with any technical issues.  Evan’s interests include Snow Boarding, Hiking, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

June McNamara, seen at the recent Long Beach Quilt Show (Note the “Eleanor Burns” boa).  June is a noted instructor and embroidery maniac.  When out of the store, she can be found sewing, embroidering, quilting, embellishing, teaching sewing, talking about sewing, reading about sewing, watching television about sewing…well, you get the idea.

Victoria “Webina” Goodman serves as our webmaster.  She is always eager to evaluate our new products.  Victoria loves gourmet cooking, home-improvement programs, dogs and sewing.  A full-time mommie to Jakey (the kid) and Lucky the Dog.  At home, She drives a Miele Capricorn canister, Sebo X4 upright & Brother NX series sewing machine.


Jennifer Anderson is our "Swiss-army knife".  Factory trained on several brands of machines and digitizing software, she is an avid quilter & embroiderer.  Highly energetic/highly involved:  PTA President, Church Treasurer, Cub Scout mom, Wife, & MOTHER OF TWIN BOYS! OMG.


Manuel Ramirez-Mendoza has been our lead technician since 2000.  Customers love his top quality work.  He is a master technician on industrial, electronic and multi-needle machines.  Always smiling, always happy, always involved with his family.  We are thankful that he is part of our staff and extended family.

Cindy Bloom is our resident sewing instructor.  Cindy earned her MBA at Pepperdine.  She unwinds from analyzing numbers, spreadsheets and pie charts with her crazy fiber arts skills.   Incredibly bright, incredibly creative and incredibly fun!  She has amassed an incredible array of top-of-the-line sewing, embroidery, software, overlock, embellishing and sashiko tools.  Ask her about her favorites.

We proudly consider Cathy Brown a member of our “Special Ops” team.  A former biochemist with a degree in fine arts, Cathy has a HUGE following of students and admirers.  Kathy leads our 12-step group for addicted embroiderers.  She is an award winning quilter.  While not normally judgemental, She has served as a highly-esteemed judge in many a quilt show.  Look for her "on tour" with Baby Lock.
